Description: An iconic piece of Italian design, the Anfibio sofa was designed by Alessandro Becchi for Giovannetti in 1970. Celebrated for its sculptural, enveloping form and ingenious transforming mechanism, the Anfibio effortlessly combines comfort, functionality and an unmistakable 1970s aesthetic.

The generous, soft volumes create an inviting lounge, while the characteristic leather straps and rounded cushions add to its distinctive appearance. Beyond its function as a sofa, the Anfibio can be transformed into a spacious bed, making it a remarkable example of innovative and flexible domestic design.

Often described as a “sofa work of art”, the Anfibio has become a true icon of Italian design and has been part of important international design collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

Condition: This vintage example is upholstered in a rich brown leather with a beautiful aged patina, giving the piece an authentic and warm character. The leather on the seating areas shows some wear consistent with age and use, as visible in the pictures. The mattress has been professionally reupholstered in a soft, high-quality fabric.
